It's no secret that screenwriting remains a male-dominated world—especially in genres that tend to be geared toward a male audience. But Angela Kang (The Walking Dead), and Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) are three female writers who have brought their pens to the gun show. Panelists will address overcoming industry molds, stigmas, and sex-pectations while channeling their inner Annie Oakleys by creating content that breaks gender barriers and box offices alike. After all, there’s no “i” in “pens”…

Angela Kang is a Writer and Co-Executive Producer for THE WALKING DEAD. She joined the hit AMC series in Season 2. Prior to that, she was a writer for the FX series TERRIERS and NBC's DAY ONE.  Angela received a B.A. in Theater and English from Occidental College, and an M.F.A. in Writing for Screen and Television from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

Nicole Perlman graduated NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 2003 with a double major in Dramatic Writing and Film Production. Since then she has gone on to win the Tribeca Film Festival's Sloan Grant for Science in Film for her screenplay "Challenger," which also placed on the 2006 Black List.
