Script-to-Screen: Chocolat

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Robert Nelson Jacobs, writer of the Academy Award® nominated screenplay Chocolat, will dissect the story’s journey from novel to script to screen. Jacobs will reference specific scenes from the film—with clips projected during the panel—and discuss the writer/director relationship with Lasse Hallstrom, the liberties he took with the adaptation, what from the original script worked, what didn’t, what needed to be changed for production, and why. A great case-study for writers interested in the art of crafting an intelligent, witty and enduring romantic film.

Those who enrolled in the advance sign-up for this session are required to show up 15 minutes early and will be admitted first. The panel will then open to remaining Badge holders.
