writer The Conjuring, Whiteout, The Reaping, House of Wax

Chad Hayes & Carey W. Hayes have been professional film and television writers since their early 20’s, and have managed to keep busy.   Since writing 2013’s worldwide hit, THE CONJURING, they’ve penned the sequel, reuniting them with James Wan (Conjuring, Saw, Insidious, Fast and Furious7), which begins filming in September 2015, The Crucifixion, an Independent thriller that goes into production October 2015, which they’re producing with Peter Safran (Conjuring, Annabelle, Conjuring II), with Xavier Gens directing (Hitman, The Divide), worked (uncredited) on the tentpole action thriller San Andreas, starring Dwayne Johnson, and a pilot for A+E based on the haunted town of Amityville.

Currently they’re penning the next segment of the Journey To The Center of The Earth franchise for New Line with Dwayne Johnson staring once again, “The Inheritance” for Dreamworks, with Roy Lee (The Ring, Grudge, The Departed) and Scott Bernstein (Straight Outta Compton) producing, an untitled project at MGM, with Mark Burnett & Roma Downey producing (Ben-Hur, The Bible, A.D) under their United Artists Media banner, and The Burn, an action film for New Line, with Beau Flynn producing (San Andreas, Hercules, Journey to the Center of the Earth franchise, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Rite).

Identical twins, the Hayes Bros got their first break after writing an attention grabbing spec script, which led to a three picture deal at 20th Century Fox, and their first feature script “Lookers”, with Laurence Mark producing (Dreamgirls, I, Robot, As Good as it Gets, Jerry McGuire).  Since then they have written 13 telefilms including USA Cable’s “Down, Out and Dangerous” and NBC’s “Twisted Desire.”  They wrote and executive produced, “Horse Sense” for the Disney Channel, as well as its sequel, “Jumping Ship” both of which starred the Lawrence brothers.  They also wrote TBS Superstation’s “First Daughter” which at the time was the most viewed cable movie in the history of television, then went on to write its two sequels, “First Shot” and “First Target,” as well as  “Shutterspeed” for TNT, and “Forth and Long”  for TBS.

They went on to write and co-produce the series, “The Crow”, staring Mark Dacascos, and served as writer producers on the development of the BeastMaster series for Alliance/Atlantis, where they had an overall deal.

Added into the mix were numerous pilots for NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, TBS, Columbia, and another overall deal at Lions Gate Entertainment.

Their early feature work includes projects for producer Joel Silver and Dark Castle Entertainment including the 2009 action/thriller “Whiteout,” (Kate Beckinsale) the 2007 thriller “The Reaping” (Hilary Swank) and the 2005 remake of the 1953 horror classic “House of Wax.”   They also have penned projects for Scott Rudin, Arnold Kopelson, Michael Bay, Mark Platt, Roy Lee, John Woo, Mel Gibson, Aaron Spelling and Robert Jones.

The Brothers are represented by WME, and managed by Circle of Confusion.
