Eric Murphy is a filmmaker, writer, and producer with more than 25 credits to his name. Notable works include the award winning short film “Steel Valley” starring Modern Family’s Ed O’Neill and writing/producing credits on the History Channel series’ “Ancient Aliens” and “America’s Book of Secrets”, as well as writing History's mini-series “The Civil War in Color.” Previous editing work includes national commercials and docs for Warner Bros., and The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Murphy developed his fascination with politics during his tenure as Director of Communications during the Ohio State Senate campaign for current U.S. Congressman Tim Ryan.

Born and raised in Warren, Ohio, Murphy grew up listening to local legends about mobsters and “crooked” politicians. A proud alumnus of Youngstown State University, Murphy earned a degree in Film Marketing and proceeded to earn a MFA in Film Directing from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Murphy's debut feature documentary is based on notorious ex-Congressman Jim Traficant, Ed O'Neill stars and serves as producer. Currently, Murphy lives and works in Los Angeles.
